Erin Bertelsen, midwestern girl from Illinois, graduated from the University of Iowa and headed west to Flagstaff in 1999. She earned an M.ED. in Counseling from NAU in 2001. Erin, her husband, Andrew, and two sons, Evan and Wesley, are happy to call Flagstaff their home.
Erin has worked in several offices at NAU, including Educational Psychology, Student Life, New Student Programs, and Distributed Learning. Since October of 2002 she has been thrilled to call Ashurst's Room 303 her home-away-from-home (y'all come and visit!). She enjoys traveling, being a mom and dabbling in amateur triathlons.

Web Stylist

You could say that Beth has the inside track on Flagstaff and environs -- as well as the birds-eye view and the big picture. After receiving her NAU B.S. (Parks and Recreation Management, 2002) and working a "day job" at the YMCA, Beth became a backpack guide in the Grand Canyon. With her unerring sense of direction, she eventually found her way to NAU and the Alumni Office, where she offers TLC to VAN volunteers and spends long hours navigating the gorges of the alumni website. Beth also serves as the advisor to the Lumberjack Alumni Ambassadors.
An avid outdoors person, Beth, her husband Andy, daughter Ella, and their golden retriever Wrigley can inevitably be spotted out on a trail hiking, or beseeching the powers for snow so they can hit the slopes. Beth loves to travel, spend time with family and just generally have a perfectly agreeable time.

Neil Goodell
Director
Neil.Goodell@nau.edu
928-523-3937
Neil Goodell's NAU roots date back to the mid-1960s when his older brother, Rex, was attending the mountain campus. Neil's family made frequent trips from Prescott during Homecoming and Parent's Day to cheer for the Lumberjacks on the gridiron. He completed his bachelor's degree at NAU in journalism/public relations in 1976 and 20 years later completed his master's in educational leadership through NAU's extension site in Prescott. Neil is a strong believer in NAU's instructional expertise and outreach because his on-campus and distance learning experiences were exceptional.
Neil and his wife Annie, who also attended NAU, were high school sweethearts and recently celebrated their 30th anniversary. They have been the proud parents and grandparents of many Golden Retrievers over the years, and host frequent gatherings for their family of puppies and owners.
Neil's dedication to NAU runs long and deep, and he is always ready to serve the institution's many students, graduates, supporters and their families.

Born a "baby boomer" and a "cheesehead" in Wausau, Wisconsin, raised in the middle of four brothers with a sister oldest and youngest, a tomboy who wore girl's clothes, phew! Finally ended up in Flagstaff, Arizona after many family moves. Married Jim Martin '78, a native Arizonan from Yuma and has three beautiful children, (Lauren, Ian & Brette). Beth came to NAU and had the pleasure to work for the NAU Foundation starting in 1992. She has worked on countless special events at NAU as a happy volunteer and is now doing it officially with the Alumni office as an event coordinator. A perpetual student at NAU with plans to graduate with one of her children.

Krista Perkins
Associate Director
Krista.Perkins@nau.edu
928-523-6124
Krista Perkins was born in upstate NY, traveled at the tender age of two to Phoenix (with her parents of course) and eventually got out of the searing heat and into the mountains of Flagstaff in 1996. During her time as a student at NAU, she worked in the Office of Public Affairs. After receiving her degree in Public Relations in 1998, a permanent position became available and she has been at NAU ever since. Many titles later and an office change brought her to the Office of Alumni Relations.
Krista is now managing editor of the PINE magazine, manages the marketing and e-communications side of things, and is the event manager for most alumni, presidential and development events. She has one son, Zane.
