Congrats to Dr. Dennis Brown, '73 BS. He is now president of Lee College in Baytown, Texas.

Congrats to Beth Carr, '80 BS. She is the new chief executive officer at the Santa Cruz Community Credit Union in California. Most recently, Beth was senior vice president of retail services at Ventura County Credit Union and president of a wholly owned subsidiary offering insurance, protection packages and car-buying services. Before that, she was vice president, marketing/business development.

Dr. Paul Sullivan, '81 MS, has been selected as the new principal of Andrean High School in Merrillville, Indiana. Paul has been serving as the principal of an international school in Kuwait. He begins his new job July 1st.

Rudi Lambrechtse, '82 MS, led a talk in January in Flagstaff on "Hiking the Canyons of the Escalante." Rudi wrote a book called Hiking the Escalante, has been a Grand Canyon hiking guide and a Colorado River boatman. For the past 20 years, he has worked as an elementary science teacher in the Valley.

Congrats to Glenn Raibinowitz, '84 BS, who is the new editor of The Observer in La Grande, Oregon.

Dr. Barbara Goodwin, '84 MA, is the new assistant superintendent for Human Resources in the Glendale Elementary School District. Previously she worked for the Lake Havasu Unified School District assistant superintendent for personnel and technology. Barbara worked in Lake Havasu schools for 30 years, also as a director of grants and technology, coordinator of state and federal projects, counselor and teacher.

photo photo Lisa Schnebly Heidinger, '87 BS, (photo left) gave a presentation on campus in February as part of the university's Arizona Centennial celebrations. She discussed her book Arizona: 100 Years Grand (right). Lisa's family history in Arizona goes back generations. The city of Sedona was named after her great-grandmother, Sedona Schnebly. She's written extensively about Arizona for Arizona Highways, The Arizona Republic and in many books. Watch an interview with Lisa from NAU-TV.

Three alumni gathered in Alexandria, Virginia in November to attend the U.S. Air Force Public Affairs Worldwide Conference. Left to right: Lt. Col. Kim Clow Wheeler, '89 BS; Brig. Gen. Les Kodlick, '84 BS; and Maj. Daneta (Dani) Johnson, '92 BS. Kodlick is the Director of Public Affairs for the Secretary of the Air Force in Washington, DC. Wheeler is a Public Affairs Reservist for the Air Force at the Pentagon. Johnson is at the Joint Public Affairs Support Element in Norfolk, Virginia. All three were commissioned into the Air Force from the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at NAU. (photo below)
