This year's theme, as chosen by NAU students, "AXEcents of NAU: Louie's Top 99."
Here's a look at some of the events you can expect to enjoy:
Tuesday, October 18:
Dedicatee Banquet - 6pm - High Country Conference Center. Hosted by Chain Gang, this annual dinner is open to the public and includes honoring this year's Homecoming Dedicatee and announcement of Homecoming King and Queen.
This year's dedicatee is Mary Bowers, senior lecturer in The W.A. Franke College of Business. Watch a video of the announcement.
The dedicatee is selected by leaders of student organizations from across campus for their dedication to providing exceptional service to the university and students. Dating back to 1936, dedicatees chosen from faculty or staff are honored during the events of Homecoming Week, which includes the banquet and a place in the Homecoming parade.

Wednesday, Oct. 19:
*Homecoming Kick Axe Beard Face-Off (student event) - 6:30pm, University Union Expansion.
*Black Student Union Dodge Ball Tournament (student event) - 8pm to 11pm, MAC Gym.
Thursday, Oct. 20:
*ASNAU Carnival - 4-10pm - Observatory Field. (student only event)
*Annual Chili Cookoff 5-6pm - Observatory Field
*Annual Tug of War - 5pm- Observatory Field (student event)
*Mr. Lumberjack Pageant- 6:30pm - Observatory Field. For nearly four decades, the NAU Kayettes have hosted this Homecoming tradition where student contestants take the stage to show their school spirit. Contestants compete in arms, talent and question-and-answer categories. The winner receives a prize package that includes a variety of gift certificates from local businesses and earns a spot with the Kayettes in Saturday's Homecoming parade through downtown Flagstaff.
*Annual Bonfire - 8pm approximate start (will begin as Mr Lumberjack ends)
*FCB Alumni and Faculty Hall of Fame Dinner - 6pm - Coconino Center for the Arts, 2300 N. Fort Valley Road. All FCB alumni are invited to this event that recognizes the achievements of outstanding FCB alumni and faculty. For more information, please visit nau.edu/franke. Cost is $40 for non-honorees. *Homecoming Entertainment: Comedian Bo Burnham - 8:30pm, Prochnow Auditorium. Tickets on sale now for alumni at discounted rate of $20 with coupon code: NAUALUMNI (case sensitive for web use). Coupon code can be used to purchase tickets online, over the phone(928.523.5661) or in person at the NAU Central Ticket Office in the Union. Content may not be suitable for all, viewer discretion advised.
*Student Homecoming Dance - 8pm-midnight - Ashurst Hall (student event)

Saturday, Oct. 22:
*Café au Louie Alumni Breakfast (includes Blue & Gold Class and Alumni Award Winners) - 9-11am at the Zane Grey Ballroom at the Hotel Weatherford. Join other NAU alumni for a delicious breakfast on Homecoming morning, and meet this year's inductees to the Blue and Gold Club and the 2010 Alumni Award winners. Adults $9, children $5. *Homecoming Parade - 11am - Downtown Flagstaff
*Meet the Author Event - 11am-1pm at the NAU Bookstore. Peter Runge, co-author of the new book Northern Arizona University Buildings as History, will be on hand to sign copies and visit with alumni and friends. Peter is a former Curator at Cline Library at NAU and is now at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA.
*Meet the Author Event - 11:30am - 1:15pm at the NAU Bookstore. Dr. Charles Pilon, NAU Retirees Association lobbyist and past president of the NAU National Alumni Association, will be signing copies of his three books, "Don't Call Me a Hero,"When the Wind is Right," and "Bridging the Gap: Twenty Years After the War in Vietnam."
*Social and Behavioral Sciences Hall of Fame and Alumni Recognition Reception - 12:30-2pm - 1899 Bar and Grill ballroom. SBS will be inducting: Governor Raul Castro, former governor of Arizona; Booker Travis Evans, Jr., Attorney, Greenbery Traurig, LLP; Keven Ann Willey, Editor and Vice President of the Dallas Morning News; Eric Baker, Director, Corporate Counsel, Starbucks Coffee Co, into their Hall of Fame. *Alumni Tailgate - 1-3pm - Outside the Skydome - upper parking lot (same spot as Family Weekend 2011). Join NAU Alumni Relations for a FREE bbq for all NAU alumni. Come early - when it runs out, it's gone!
*FCB Tailgate - Skydome, Parking lot 66. Join FCB alumni, faculty, staff, and friends for an annual tradition of fun times with fun people. *Waybackjacks Tailgate Party The Waybackjacks (NAU football & friends circa 1967-1974) are having a tailgate party in the Skydome parking lot A from noon-3pm. More info on this and other Waybackjacks Homecoming Weekend events at waybackjacks.com.
*Lumbejack FanFest - 11a-2p, Pine Ridge parking lot on the South side of campus. Inflatable games, giveaways, live music and much more. FREE to all fans.
*Homecoming Football Game vs. Montana - 3:05 p.m., Walkup Skydome: The Lumberjacks take on Big Sky Conference rival Montana as both teams compete for the conference title and a Football Championship Subdivision playoff berth. Buy tickets.

*Alumni Award/Blue & Gold/Recognition at homecoming game during halftime
*Kayettes Alumni Reception - Join your Kayette sisters of yesteryear for the annual Alumni Reception during NAU's 2011 Homecoming Weekend. 7-9pm at the Radisson Woodlands Hotel, 1175 W Route 66. Light refreshments and cash bar. Spouses and guests welcome. Contributions are most welcome to help offset costs of this event and support future service activities.
